The 34th, 35th, and 36th regular-season NFL games to be played in London since the International Series started on October 28, 2007, will take place during the 2023 campaign. With the exception of the 2020 season because to the pandemic, every NFL season since 2007 has had at least one game in London. However, no team has ever had a season that featured two visits to London. The Jacksonville Jaguars, though, plan to change that.
Previous London Games for the Jaguars:
The Jaguars are familiar with London having participated in nine of the last 26 NFL games there. To put it another way, in the previous ten years, there was a 35% chance that any given game you turned on the TV to watch would be a Jacksonville game.
The Jaguars haven’t exactly been an NFL club to be proud of in terms of franchise success, with only two winning seasons in the previous ten years. In fact, without the London competitions, it would have been tough to see Jacksonville on television unless you resided in North Florida or South Georgia.

The San Francisco 49ers, who three months later came within 18 yards and one extra point of upsetting the Seattle Seahawks in the NFC Championship game, faced the Jaguars in their inaugural game in London on October 27, 2013. Jacksonville’s 42-10 loss was the fourth-worst defeat in NFL London history, but fans did see another display of Maurice Jones-Drew’s genius.
With the exception of 2020, when the London series was postponed due to pandemic concerns, they have since travelled to Wembley Stadium or Tottenham Hotspur Stadium each season. They may have had their best team in 2017 when they almost stunned the New England Patriots in the AFC Championship game.
This defensive unit placed second in sacks and interceptions, sixth in points, and first in yards per throw in pass defence. They were spearheaded by rookie Leonard Fournette’s assault and finished eighth in rushing yards that season. Baltimore scored their most points in four years against the Jaguars in a 44-7 victory in London.
This was the second-largest point difference in any London game.
The Jaguars’ 2023 London schedule:
In an NFL season, a team will play two games in London for the first time ever. In addition, there will be a game every Sunday in between the games. The league obviously does not want clubs to schedule multiple round-trip international flights, therefore this is the excuse. Choosing the same side for back-to-back games makes sense.
And which team was selected for this NFL exhibition? None but the Jaguars. But this Jaguars team wasn’t just any Jaguars team from the recent past. The 2023 edition is one of the most exciting and rapidly expanding clubs in the NFL. Jacksonville wants to participate in the AFC Championship Game in addition to just making the playoffs.
Dates, times, TV schedule, and more for the Jacksonville Jaguars’ 2023 schedule
The NFL has a tremendous opportunity to showcase a rising team on consecutive Sundays thanks to players like Tyson Campbell, Christian Kirk, Kelvin Ridley, Travis Etienne Jr., Trevor Lawrence, and Travis Etienne, who should be the league’s cornerstone in the following years.
Jacksonville wants to better their 4-5 record in games played in London. They will face off against each other for the first time in Week 4 (October 1) at Wembley Stadium against the Atlanta Falcons. They will meet Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills in their second game at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in Week 5 (October 8).
